7/3/2008 Post WeSTOC 13
Today's ride was pleasant! The hottest it got was
83. Coldest 38 on Willow Creek Pass

black bear on the road just past the summit. Wasn't sure if it was a cub or an
adolescent. Didn't stick around to see if Momma was around. A deer and a fawn
crossed the road about a minute later. I hit the horn and Mom went one way, the
fawn the other. It thought about going after Mom, but another blast sent it into
safely into the woods. TONS of prairie dogs ALL over the road in Wyoming after
the pass! They were scattering like rats off the warm roadway. I'm amazed I
didn't hit any. Lot's of other people did!
