Shown below is the route I settled on after considering several. The Western gathering of the ST Owners Club, WeSTOC VII in Ashland OR, was my final destination. The first runner up route I created took me orth, over the North Cascades Highway, south-east to Pendleton, OR and then south-west on to Ashland, OR. Some of the other routes would have taken me further east into Idaho before heading for Ashland. Since his was my first SS1000, and would the longest single day ride for me to date, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I wasn’t even sure I’d make it the full 1000 miles. The straight out and back route was selected so in the event I couldn’t make the entire ride I’d be in Ashland after 500 miles. This was my bail out point if I encountered difficulties.
