Top Box Rack

3/12/2005

Designed by the late Ron Smith, manufactured by:
Roy Fletcher @ Rfr Fabrication

Front supports in place.

Rear supports in place.

Two small notches are cut into the bottom of the box to allow it past the rear mounting tabs in the previous picture.

Test fitting the unfinished rack.

Thru bolts mount the stock base plate to the “H” frame and on through to the backer bars on the bottom of the rack.

Mounting the finished rack.

“H” frame goes on top of the rack.

Rack and base plate in place.

Top box in the forward position. I still need to extend some wiring so the passenger seat has not been installed. The backrest on the box isn’t far enough forward for me to effectively use it. I <may> have a thicker one made that can actually be used.

The base plate behind the box is used as a tie down location when riding solo, and for the top box when riding two-up.

Completed installation with the passenger seat in place.
