We had a bit of rain and the KLR would not start after some swearing and kicking From Jackson we had some more problems with the KLR in the am and Greg cursed more at the bike and cursed that it wasn’t a BMW! We drove thru some high desert and flat desert past the worlds first nuclear plant and a stop at the
Craters of the Moon Park with black rocks and sand looking much like the moon although it was very windy. After a stop in Sun Valley we headed up to Stanley Idaho and the Mountain Lodge hotel. In the lot Greg mentioned he saw a white cord on Adam’s rear tire. Upon inspection we found 7,500 miles were it and calls to Honda and tow services began. Adam found out that a tow and tire would be ready the next morning so we decided Paul’s may get one also at BMW in Boise the next day although his wasn’t that bad and Greg said he was worried also but we saw no change. We had a great dinner and went down to the hot spring tub with sand at the bottom of the tub and a view of the snowy Sawtooth mountains.
AT 5:30 am some pinheads decided to warm up a diesel truck in front of our rooms for 10 minutes so Paul and I lost some sleep.

Where’s Pawel?! On the ride up Hwy 22 west out of Jackson our group got separated. Adam was in the lead, followed by some distance by Pawel. The rest of the group was a ways behind Pawel. As we approached Victor Adam radioed back to the group letting them know we were turning left in Victor on Hwy 31 towards Swan Valley. Paul didn’t hear the instructions. Adam made the turn, followed by the group, sans Pawel. Pawel continued north on Hwy 33 like a bat out of hell trying to catch Adam. Problem is Adam wasn’t on Hwy 33. 🙂 We discovered what happened as we rolled into Swan Valley. At some point Pawel figured something was up, stopped and called us. Turns out he was about 40 mins away. When Pawel arrived in Swan Valley he was quite upset with Adam. 🙁 To make it up to Pawel Adam bought him breakfast in Idaho Falls.

Paul’s three plate breakfast!
