Valentine One Radar/Laser Detector
I’ve been looking for the perfect container for my Valentine One rader detector for quite some time. I’ve been using the expen$ive and large Legal speeding box. It’s longer and taller than required to house the V1. Mounting on a dash shelf typically means it’s going to cantilever Ā off the shelf to avoid fouling with the windshield.Ā
Tonight I paid a visit to my local “The Container Store” to see if I could find a suitable container. I found two!Ā
The first container is the perfect height, an just slightly to wide and long for the newer V1. It’sĀ 5-1/2″ x 4-1/8″ x 1-3/8″. The skew is 10054861. You can find it online here. They are only $3.99! The only issue with this case is it isn’t clear but partially translucent. I don’t think that will be an issue with radar or laser.
The secondĀ container is slightly taller than require, but absolutely the perfect width and length and is clear.Ā It’s 5-3/8″ x 4″ x 1-3/4″. The skew is 10060176. You can find it online here. They are only $2.99!Ā
Both of these boxes are hinged and snap shut.
I decided to paint the smaller of the two boxes and try it first.
Printing support pieces to put between the various V1 components and the dash shelf.Ā
One wedge for the V1 remote display, and the block to supportĀ the volume control box under the shelf.
Ā Ā I cut a small slot in the battery cover to allow for the wiring of the V1 & the TPMS.
