2008 SPAMS Ride - Day 4 - 6/3/2008

We took off in the morning down south thru Big Sky to West Yellowstone on a sunny day and drove into the park and in a
few miles saw Bison and Elks. We of course took some pictures and drove to Old Faithfull. The fire areas are growing back
incredibly with thick groves of Lodge Pole pines very close in between the burned out old trees. Quite a sight as was the
geyser which went off 20 minutes after we were there and also checked out the Old Faithfull lodge with the beam and huge
fireplace construction. I helped a Korean tour group take pictures and then we were off. Around the lake it got cold and
windy and there was ice on the edges. We started joking its the 1st winter SPAMS ride! The ride was great with little traffic
there and then down into Cody thru copper and red colored canyons much like in Arizona. It was warm and we headed across
the basin to Burgess Junction with little traffic at all. The ride up to 9400 feet was again twisty and great but then cold
at the top with snow on the sides of the rode. We pulled in and saw all the bikes there including a friend of Adam's and Alan's
from Montana. Mike is a train engineer that drives a Honda ST1100 He dislikes Walmart like Greg and dislikes "The Man".
He rode  the earlier day when the guys got nailed by hail, twice! A nice guy and he was going to ride with us the next day.
That evening we met Petee real name Petra a great bartender and interested in our group and Poland.
