2007 SPAMS Ride - Day 3 - 8/18/2007

John's Day 3 ride report:

We started out after a breakfast at Summit Station and had a great drive over the Lolo Pass made famous by Lewis and
Clark and the weeks it took them to cross them where it took us a hour. Over 70 miles of winding roads and sweepers along
the river heading west. We then got gas in Orofino but no milk shakes at a spot Adams suggested which was sold. The road
from Orofino up the canyon and into the Palouse into Pullman is also great. Its has tighter turns then Lolo Pass, narrow and
very scenic with different scenes like flat lands thru farmland then into a deep shady canyon going down to Moscow with all
the pavement in great shape. Both of these roads gave us great experience and  chances to improve our turn knowledge and
I became one with the RT !. We talked about doing a trip back to Lewiston or Pullman and using that as a base because of
all the great roads and passes in that area.

We arrived in Pullman and hit the pool and had some cold beers as the day wound down.
