HID Low Beam Only Install 4/22/2007

Here's the low beam only HID capsule with the protective plastic still installed.

The stock tabs are standard H4. You'll need to install an adapter ring for the ST.

I had to Dremel a notch in the plastic base of the HID bulb as shown here to allow the retainer clip to seat properly.

HID installed on the right side with it's unique power connectors. I chose to install the HID on the right so I could keep
my high beam modulator on the left side.

HID capsule installed in the right headlight.

Per Warchild's write up, I used two Radio Shack diodes to keep current from cross feeding to the other bulb harness.
The black wire goes to ground, the other two go the low and high beams. I use the high beam on the other bulb to control
my modulator. Without this setup my modulator would run even on the low beam setting because current would cross feed
to the harness on the left side triggering the modulator. The diodes are Radio Shack 3-amp Model: 1N5402, Catalog
#: 276-1143.

All soldered up!

I zip-tie mounted the components in front of the right side fairing pocket.

Typical HID look on the right (photo lef). Stock with modulator on the left (photo right.
