Yaesu FT-8800, Diamond K400C mount, and Comet CA-2x4SR Antenna 12/19/2005
Connections to the battery attach to the cross member
shown, and then on to the firewall on the drivers side.
I used a screwdriver to poke through the existing
rubber grommet from the
inside of the car.
Wires tied to existing wire loom.
Grommet and wire on the interior side of the
firewall.
The power wires continue down through the fuse box
and into the door jamb.
The door trim pulls right up to expose a clear path
for the power lines.
New power lines in place.
The power lines continue up behind the rear seat and
into the trunk.
I used the existing spare clip to retain the power
lines.
Piece of coat hanger to fish the line up from behind
the read seat.
Yaesu 8800 strapped into place next to the tire
repair kit.
Yaesu FT-8800 head mounted in the drink holder.
Normal operating mode.
The microphone fits nicely next to the radio and the
cover still closes!
Diamond
K400C trunk antenna mount.
Comet CA-2x4SR Antenna. Clears the garage door with an 1/8" to spare!! :)
